In this day of commercialism, we have made every effort to keep the Athens Fair as simple and homespun as it was in the past. From simple beginnings as a one day market day the fair still features a variety of animals, crops, garden produce, crafts and flowers. For the most part, the exhibiting and judging of these entries is the entertainment of the fair. Also, the food and drink at the fair is mostly provided by local churches and organizations.

Central International Gladiolus Show will be in the Commercial Exhibition Building. Visit the many commercial exhibits in the Community Hall and in the park throughout the fair.

Eat at one of the locally sponsored food stands - St. Anthony’s, Trinity Lutheran, Christ United, Colby FFA, Holstein Breeders. St. Anthony’s School for Fish Fry on Friday and Charcoal Chicken Sunday Dinner; Trinity Lutheran ham dinner on Sunday.

Patronize the Legion/VFW Beer Stand in the park throughout the fair - music provided on Thurs., Fri. & Sat. night.

View the exhibits - animals in the park and produce, flowers and crafts in the hall.

Earl’s Rides will be on the Midway throughout the fair. Advance sale tickets will be honored on all rides all weekend. Tickets must be purchased before show opening from businesses in town. Wrist bands will be sold from the ticket booths.

The shuttle buses (Dreams Come True Limousine) will be operating on Sunday bringing people to the downtown area from parking areas away from the downtown. The buses will start at 11:00 a.m. and continue until they are no longer needed.
